Nym Technologies has introduced a new SDK designed to integrate its mixnet directly into crypto wallets and decentralized applications. The toolkit allows developers to route browser traffic through a 5-hop mixnet, effectively masking IP addresses and timing patterns at the device level.

Built on open-source Rust components, the SDK includes the nym-smolmix crate, which replaces standard network sockets. It supports both HTTP(S) and gRPC traffic, enabling privacy features without requiring users to install separate VPN software.

The Nym mixnet currently operates via more than 700 independent node operators. The company is actively targeting the Ethereum ecosystem, presenting the SDK at Devcon 8 as a solution for network-level metadata protection.

The technology is already in use within production environments. Zcash wallets Zingo and Zkool integrated the mixnet following a grant in September 2026, while Edge Wallet announced a native integration in March 2026. Testing with WalletConnect began in 2023.
