Samsung has introduced the Galaxy Buds On, the company's first open-ear wireless headphones. Unlike traditional in-ear models, this device clips onto the outer ear, allowing users to remain aware of their surroundings while listening to audio. The design is specifically aimed at long-term wear and outdoor activities.
The headphones feature a TwinBoost dual-speaker system to improve low-frequency performance and include Audio Leakage Reduction technology to minimize sound spill. For calls, the device uses three microphones combined with a bone conduction vibration sensor and machine learning algorithms to isolate the user's voice in noisy environments.
The Galaxy Buds On offer up to 9.5 hours of continuous playback on a single charge. The device integrates Galaxy AI features, including access to Gemini Live and voice memo recording. Additionally, users can control calls via head gestures, such as nodding to answer or shaking their head to reject a call.
The product will launch in South Korea on October 27 with a retail price of ₩299 000. Currently, only a black version has been announced. Samsung plans to release the headphones in global markets at a later date, though specific international release schedules and regional pricing have not yet been disclosed.
