Danish biotech company Samplix has raised €25 million in the first close of its latest financing round. The capital consists of €3 million in new equity and €22 million in shareholder convertible bonds. The round was led by the European investment firm WLanholding GmbH with support from existing major shareholders. The company has set a total funding target of €30 million.

The proceeds will be used to strengthen the company's balance sheet and expand the commercial adoption of its Xdrop platform, specifically within the antibody discovery sector. Samplix also plans to leverage its technology to provide functional, cell-level data for AI-driven drug discovery applications.

As part of the deal, Dr. Werner Lanthaler, founder of WLanholding and former CEO of Evotec, will join the Samplix Board of Directors within the next year. He will collaborate with the management team to oversee the company's next growth phase.

Founded in 2013 and based in Birkerød, Samplix specializes in microfluidics technology. Its core Xdrop platform enables high-throughput analysis by encapsulating individual living cells in double-emulsion droplets. This system is currently utilized by biopharmaceutical firms and academic institutions for research in immunotherapy, cell line development, and genomic editing.
