Open interest in perpetual futures for tokenized real-world assets (RWA) reached approximately $20 billion as of October 26, 2026. This figure marks a 192% increase since June 2026, when the market saw significantly lower activity.

The growth of RWA-linked contracts has been rapid, rising from $9.3 billion in August 2026 to nearly $20 billion by late October. Consequently, the market share of RWA perpetuals within the total perpetual futures market expanded from 6% at the start of 2026 to 24% by late September.

Centralized exchanges currently control 71% of the RWA perpetual open interest, focusing primarily on single stocks and precious metals. Decentralized exchanges (DEXs) account for the remaining 29% and maintain a leading position in equity index derivatives.

Platforms such as Trade.xyz and Variational have emerged as key participants in the RWA derivatives sector. The shift reflects a broader trend of tokenizing traditional assets, allowing traders to maintain leveraged exposure to commodities and equities within crypto infrastructure.
