The head of Rosaviatsia, Dmitry Yadrov, announced that the certification process for the SJ-100 aircraft is scheduled to conclude in the first quarter of 2027. The aircraft is currently undergoing mandatory certification flight tests to confirm its airworthiness.

The PD-8 engine, which powers the updated Superjet, has already received its type certificate. This milestone was officially reached in early June, marking a key step in the development of the fully localized Russian regional jet.

The SJ-100 is designed to carry 100 passengers and features a wide range of domestic systems. The import substitution program replaced foreign components with Russian-made alternatives, including avionics, landing gear, and power supply systems.

Engineers also updated the aircraft's airframe to simplify both production and future maintenance. According to Rosaviatsia, previous technical issues have been resolved, and the project is now focused on finalizing the necessary certification documentation.
