The Ministry of Industry and Trade has fined Vega Radio Engineering Corporation, a subsidiary of Rostec, 160.16 ₽ million for failing to complete a government contract. The agreement, signed in October 2017, required the development and serial production of six types of DC/DC power modules to replace American Vicor Corp products.
The contract was originally scheduled for completion by January 31, 2021. However, as of May 2026, the work remains unfinished, with the delay exceeding 2,300 days. The project involved three stages, with the final phase, including testing and acceptance, originally due by November 20, 2019.
The Ministry issued three separate penalty demands to Vega: 465,000 ₽ in March 2021, 70.8 ₽ million in January 2022, and the final demand for the full contract value of 160.16 ₽ million in May 2026. The modules were intended for specialized military equipment and hardware.
The technical specifications required the modules to operate from onboard networks with voltages between 9 and 375 V, delivering an output of 3.3 to 48 V. The design called for a power density of up to 6,100 W/dm³, a 25-year service life, and resistance to radiation, vibrations, and temperatures from minus 60 to plus 85 degrees Celsius.
