The United Engine Corporation, part of Rostec, is developing the GTD-8SM industrial gas turbine with a capacity of 8 MW. The engine is intended for local power centers and autonomous facilities requiring high reliability and rapid maintenance capabilities.

A key feature of the GTD-8SM is its digital twin, which monitors performance, tracks wear, and predicts maintenance needs. This approach aims to replace fixed-schedule servicing with condition-based maintenance, thereby reducing the risk of unplanned downtime.

The turbine features a modular design where the compressor, combustion chamber, power turbine, and auxiliary drive are separate blocks. This allows for on-site module replacement without dismantling adjacent components or requiring specialized factory equipment.

The engine is designed for extreme climates, operating in temperatures ranging from -60 to 40 degrees Celsius. Its estimated efficiency exceeds 30 percent, with an overhaul interval of 30,000 hours and a total service life of at least 120,000 hours.

The first prototype of the GTD-8SM is scheduled for production in 2028. All current performance metrics are based on calculations and will be subject to verification during upcoming testing phases.
