The fuel division of Rosatom has unveiled Voltera, a portable energy storage system designed for off-grid power supply. The unit offers a capacity of up to 26 kWh and can operate autonomously for up to 48 hours, serving as an alternative to traditional fuel-powered generators.
The system is built for diverse environments, including industrial sites, public parks, and emergency response operations. It features a silent, emission-free design with dimensions of 130 by 100 by 87 centimeters. The device is rated IP54 for protection against dust and water splashes and functions in temperatures ranging from -20 to +45 degrees Celsius.
The product was officially introduced at the 8th Russian Energy Week forum. Rosatom highlights that the system eliminates the need for additional grid infrastructure, allowing for rapid deployment of power in remote or temporary locations.
This development aligns with the expansion of domestic battery production. A gigafactory in the Kaliningrad region began pilot operations in December 2025, followed by a second facility in the Moscow region on October 6, 2026. Each plant has an annual capacity of 4 GWh, bringing total production to approximately 8 GWh per year.
