Rosatom has completed the installation of automated process control systems at the Rooppur NPP in Bangladesh. The infrastructure includes approximately 20,000 pieces of equipment across 43 systems, enabling the monitoring of over 7,000 operational parameters at the facility.

The complex features an operator information support system based on a digital twin of the power unit. This tool analyzes data from 360 technological systems to identify deviations and provides staff with recommendations derived from more than 80 operational and emergency instructions.

The system is currently active during the commissioning of the first power unit and is scheduled for deployment on the second. Rooppur marks the first international nuclear plant where Rosatom has implemented this specific digital support technology.

The Rooppur NPP is being constructed 160 kilometers from Dhaka under a contract signed on December 25, 2015. The station will feature two VVER-1200 generation 3+ reactors with a total capacity of 2,400 MW.
