Robinhood, which serves 28.6 million funded customers, has integrated the RLUSD stablecoin developed by Ripple. The token, which launched in December 2024 and currently holds a market capitalization exceeding $2.5 billion, is now available on the Bitstamp exchange and the proprietary Robinhood blockchain. Integration into the main Robinhood application is scheduled for later this year.
The partnership extends to operational infrastructure, as Robinhood will utilize Ripple Treasury software to manage global cash flows, risk, and intercompany netting. Additionally, Robinhood will leverage Ripple Prime, a prime brokerage service acquired by Ripple for $1.25 billion in April 2025, to provide institutional settlement and financing services.
Robinhood acquired the Bitstamp exchange in June 2025 for approximately $200 million. Through this platform, Ripple Prime currently supports lending and margin financing for about 20 digital assets. Plans are in place to introduce support for perpetual futures contracts on the exchange later this year.
The integration follows Robinhood's decision to reintroduce XRP for U.S. customers in November 2024. The company is currently optimizing its operations, having reduced its workforce by 10% in June following a 34% decline in crypto transaction revenue during the first quarter, which amounted to $134 million.
