Ripple has formally requested that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission finalize its proposed Regulation Crypto Assets framework. The company is pushing for a clear reclassification of digital assets to ensure they are not indefinitely categorized as securities.

This initiative follows the resolution of a legal dispute between Ripple and the SEC in 2025. The company seeks to establish greater regulatory certainty for XRP and the broader cryptocurrency market through this framework.

The proposed regulations aim to introduce specific exemptions for certain offerings and define a process for assets to move away from being classified as investment contracts. The SEC has not yet finalized these rules.
