Ripple launched the XRPL AI Starter Kit on June 10, enabling autonomous AI agents to manage wallets and execute payments on the XRP Ledger. The toolkit integrates XRPL with the x402 open payment protocol, which is supported by companies including Stripe, Coinbase, and Cloudflare.

The integration, facilitated by the partner t54, allows AI systems to autonomously pay for services like API access and model inference using XRP or the RLUSD stablecoin. The x402 protocol has recently processed between 75 and 120 million machine-to-machine transactions, representing tens of millions of dollars in total value.

The XRPL AI Starter Kit provides tools for wallet creation, transaction monitoring, and real-time payment processing. It supports AI clients such as Anthropic’s Claude. The XRP Ledger offers settlement times of 3 to 5 seconds and includes a native decentralized exchange.

Ripple has also joined the Mastercard Agent Pay for Machines program, a consortium of over 30 partners focused on agentic commerce infrastructure. Meanwhile, the Tempo project, which co-authored the Machine Payments Protocol with Stripe, launched its own mainnet in March 2026.
