Attackers have begun publishing sensitive information belonging to Revolut customers online. The group claims they will continue to release data daily until the fintech company pays a ransom. The leaked files include selfies and identity documents, which poses a significant risk of identity theft for the affected individuals.
According to reports, the compromised data includes full names, dates of birth, contact details, occupations, account statements, and transaction histories, including records of Bitcoin activity. Public figures such as tennis player Alexander Shevchenko and Gamdom CEO Felix Römer are among those whose personal documents were exposed.
Revolut stated that the breach resulted from a sophisticated external impersonation scam. Attackers utilized an email address from a legitimate government agency domain to submit fraudulent information requests. The company confirmed that the incident affected a limited number of customers.
Despite the data leak, Revolut maintains that its internal systems and customer funds remain secure and unaffected. The company is currently addressing the situation following the disclosure of the breach on September 14, 2026.
