The Reshetnev company, a subsidiary of Roscosmos, has initiated the production of solar arrays for the new Express-40 satellite. This spacecraft is being developed for the state-owned enterprise Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) to support telecommunications and broadcasting services.

The solar power system for the Express-40 satellite consists of two wings, each featuring five panels. Currently, the manufacturer is assembling the frames, which are constructed from composite materials and include a string substrate. These frames will be sent to a partner facility for the installation of photovoltaic cells.

In addition to the Express-40 project, Reshetnev is working on seven other satellites for the Russian Satellite Communications Company. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to modernize the national geostationary satellite constellation, which includes the construction of four fully domestic spacecraft.
