Paris-based Rayon, a developer of browser-based interior design software, has secured €10 million in a Series A funding round led by Partech. Existing investors Northzone, Foundamental, and Seedcamp also participated in the round, bringing the company's total funding to nearly €16 million.
Founded in 2021 by Stanislas Chaillou and Bastien Dolla, Rayon provides a browser-based alternative to traditional BIM tools. The platform allows users to import DWG or PDF files, which are converted into editable drawings, and includes features for floor plans, mood boards, and automated specification updates.
The company plans to use the new capital to develop a 3D mode, integrate additional AI features into the drawing process, and expand its sales team. Rayon currently employs 40 people, following a growth phase that included a €4 million seed round in September 2023 and a €1.7 million pre-seed round in 2022.
Rayon competes with established industry players like Autodesk, Trimble, and Nemetschek, which collectively hold approximately 42% of the interior design software market. The startup targets interior fit-outs and renovations, aiming to provide a specialized design layer that differs from tools primarily built for architects.
The company reports that clients such as CityHub and Coloc Housing have reduced feasibility study costs by €10 000 and €11 000 per month, respectively. Virgin Atlantic also utilizes the software for airport lounge design. Rayon intends to launch Version 4 with 3D modeling and new AI tools by the end of the year.
