Real Vision founder Raoul Pal suggests that a potential decline in the US dollar could trigger a rally in the cryptocurrency market. He notes that current high bond yields and a strong dollar are restricting liquidity, which is necessary for crypto growth.

Pal observes a rotation of capital from AI stocks into crypto, noting that Bitcoin rose approximately 25% to $80,000 between August 19 and August 25, while Nvidia shares experienced seven consecutive days of losses during the same period.

The analyst expects AI agents to drive adoption of smart contract platforms like Ethereum and Solana rather than Bitcoin. He highlights that Amazon Web Services introduced a feature in June allowing AI agents to pay for web content using stablecoins via the Coinbase x402 protocol.

Regarding network competition, Pal notes that Solana recorded 3.2 million active addresses over a 24-hour period, compared to 387,000 for Ethereum. However, Ethereum holds $54.4 billion in decentralized finance protocols, significantly exceeding Solana’s $6.7 billion.

Pal maintains a cautious outlook on whether Solana will surpass Ethereum in market capitalization. He emphasizes that Ethereum currently demonstrates higher economic density, as it attracts more capital relative to its user base compared to Solana.
