Real Vision founder Raoul Pal suggests that a potential decline in the US dollar could act as a catalyst for the cryptocurrency market. He notes that current high bond yields and a strong dollar are restricting liquidity, which is necessary for further growth in the sector.
Pal highlights a shift in capital from AI stocks to digital assets. He points to the period between August 19 and August 25, when Bitcoin rose by approximately 25 percent to $80,000, while Nvidia shares experienced seven consecutive days of losses.
The analyst expects AI agents to drive adoption of smart contract platforms like Ethereum and Solana. He notes that Amazon Web Services introduced a feature in June allowing AI agents to pay for web content using stablecoins, with Coinbase handling verification via its x402 protocol.
Regarding network metrics, Solana recorded approximately 3.2 million active addresses over a 24-hour period, while Ethereum saw 387,000. However, Ethereum holds $54.4 billion in decentralized finance protocols, significantly exceeding Solana's $6.7 billion.
Pal remains cautious about predictions that Solana will surpass Ethereum in market capitalization. He emphasizes that Ethereum currently maintains higher economic density, whereas much of the activity on the Solana network is driven by speculation.
