QuFi Network has introduced a new verification platform designed to secure digital assets against quantum computing threats. The system enables transaction validation using post-quantum cryptography without necessitating modifications to current blockchain settlement networks.
The infrastructure functions by separating verification from settlement. A decentralized node network validates transactions before they are finalized on existing chains. The platform utilizes three specific post-quantum standards: ML-DSA-65, SLH-DSA, and ML-KEM-1024 for digital signatures and key exchange.
The company also released uBTC, a proof-of-concept currently running on Bitcoin Testnet4. This system verifies Bitcoin collateral and generates cryptographic proofs for value movement. Redemptions are processed as standard Bitcoin transactions, avoiding the high storage and computing costs of direct on-chain post-quantum signatures.
The launch follows broader industry efforts to address quantum risks. In August, StarkWare tested a quantum-resistant Bitcoin transaction, while international banks piloted post-quantum wallets. Additionally, Blockstream researchers recently proposed SHRINCS, an experimental signature scheme for Bitcoin protocol-level defense.
