Reports from the Seoul Economic Daily claimed that Samsung encountered thermal throttling issues while testing the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip for the Galaxy S27 Ultra. According to the publication, the processor repeatedly exceeded temperature thresholds during high-load operations.

Don McGuire, Chief Marketing Officer at Qualcomm, addressed these claims on the X platform, labeling the report as entirely inaccurate. He explicitly stated that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series does not suffer from any systemic thermal management problems.

McGuire explained that original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) continuously optimize chip platforms during the product development phase. These adjustments aim to achieve a balance between performance and power consumption for various usage scenarios.

Qualcomm maintains that it works closely with its partners to ensure optimal performance for end users. The company emphasized that the ongoing collaboration with manufacturers is focused on delivering the best possible experience for future devices.
