Qualcomm and Huawei announced a long-term, broad patent licensing agreement on October 5. The deal covers cross-licensing of patent portfolios across several technology sectors, including 5G, computing, artificial intelligence, and networking.

The agreement also includes Qualcomm's acquisition of certain non-cellular US patents from Huawei. These patents span various technical fields, such as computing, artificial intelligence, and networking.

Following reports from Bloomberg suggesting Qualcomm gained access to Huawei's logic folding chip manufacturing technology, Qualcomm issued a clarifying statement on October 6.

Qualcomm explicitly denied that the agreement relates to logic folding chip technology. Furthermore, the company stated that reports describing Qualcomm as a net payer under this agreement are inaccurate.
