Qualcomm has officially denied reports regarding overheating issues with its latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. The company described the circulating claims as inaccurate and emphasized that there are no systemic temperature problems associated with the new platform.
The statement follows rumors suggesting that Samsung might abandon the chip for its upcoming Galaxy S27 smartphone series in favor of its own Exynos 2700 processor. Reports previously claimed that Samsung was in negotiations with Qualcomm to address potential thermal concerns.
Don McGuire, Chief Marketing Officer at Qualcomm, clarified that OEM partners are currently in the process of tuning their platforms for upcoming product launches. He reiterated that the company continues to work closely with manufacturers to ensure optimal performance for end users.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 architecture features six CPU cores, including two primary cores clocked at 5 GHz. The chip also incorporates a significantly upgraded graphics subsystem compared to the previous generation of the company's flagship hardware.
