Ningbo Qiushui Semiconductor Technology Co., Ltd. has introduced a mass-production ready 8-inch red light Micro LED chip. The product utilizes a proprietary lossless Micro LED technology, enabling a 640x480 resolution red light display within a volume of 0.15 cubic centimeters.
The company addressed the technical challenges of red light Micro LEDs, where traditional physical etching processes often damage light-emitting materials and reduce efficiency. To solve this, Qiushui Semiconductor implemented an electrical insulation method combined with a hybrid bonding vertical stack architecture for pixel isolation.
The chip achieves a pixel yield rate of over 99.9999% and meets automotive-grade temperature requirements. The company plans to start production on its 8-inch hybrid bonding production line in October of this year, with a planned annual capacity of tens of millions of chips.
Founded in November 2022, Ningbo Qiushui Semiconductor focuses on Micro LED micro-display chips and modules. Its product portfolio targets AR glasses, digital headlights, and micro-projection systems.
