Quantum Computing Inc. (QCi) and INmune Bio have entered a partnership to apply quantum optimization to pharmaceutical research. The collaboration focuses on identifying new therapeutic applications for XPro, an experimental drug currently in development for Alzheimer’s disease.

The project utilizes QCi’s Dirac-3S quantum optimization machine to analyze clinical datasets. INmune Bio provides data from four clinical trials and years of research regarding XPro, which functions by selectively blocking soluble tumor necrosis factor to manage inflammation.

Researchers will compare the performance of QCi’s quantum technology against conventional artificial intelligence and statistical methods. The goal is to determine if quantum computing can identify biological patterns or patient populations that traditional tools might overlook.

INmune Bio intends to use these insights to prioritize research programs, specifically targeting rare diseases where clinical trials may be more capital-efficient. The company is currently preparing for a Phase 2b/3 trial of XPro for early Alzheimer’s patients.

This agreement represents the first commercial engagement for QCi in the biotechnology sector. While the companies have not disclosed financial terms, the deal includes options for further collaboration as research progresses.
