Tech analyst Ice Universe conducted a comparative test of the privacy screen modes on the Xiaomi 18 Pro and the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. The evaluation focused on how effectively each device obscures screen content from viewers positioned at various side angles.
The results indicate that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra offers superior privacy protection. When the privacy mode is active, the display content becomes significantly harder to distinguish from indirect viewing angles, effectively hiding information from those nearby.
In contrast, the Xiaomi 18 Pro shows less effective results in privacy mode, as the screen content remains relatively visible from multiple angles. Additionally, the Xiaomi device exhibits narrower viewing angles even when the privacy feature is completely disabled.
The Xiaomi 18 Pro displays a subtle difference between its standard and privacy-enabled states. The device maintains certain privacy-related characteristics even in normal mode, which results in reduced brightness and visibility when viewed off-center, creating a persistent filter effect.
