PowerUp America has secured four funding awards from the North Carolina Department of Transportation under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program. The company plans to install public DC fast charging stations in Chocowinity, Plymouth, Wadesboro, and Whiteville.
The project involves collaboration with Kempower, which will supply the necessary DC fast charging hardware. Kempower maintains its North American headquarters and manufacturing facilities in Durham, North Carolina.
PowerUp America is responsible for the full development cycle, including design, permitting, construction, and commissioning. The new charging sites are scheduled to become operational between mid-to-late 2027.
