Pinterest has upgraded its infrastructure using Nvidia technology to enhance AI-driven search and discovery. The new system integrates Nvidia Blackwell GPUs and Nvidia Dynamo software with the company's proprietary visual embeddings. This technical collaboration follows nearly five years of partnership between the two organizations.
Benchmark testing shows significant performance improvements. The infrastructure achieves 85 times faster response startup and reduces overall latency by 7.3 times. These gains result from using precomputed visual representations rather than processing raw images repeatedly. The system now supports visual search, content understanding, and safety features.
The platform processes over 80 billion monthly searches, converting them into signals for discovery and shopping. This enables the Pinterest Assistant to handle 25 times more visual context per request. These updates align with the company's strategy to position itself as an AI-focused shopping destination.
Financial results indicate growth for the company, with revenue exceeding $1 billion for four consecutive quarters. Monthly active user counts have reached record levels. Every item displayed to users now passes through a recommendation model based on individual search history, saved content, and boards.
