Pinterest has launched a new AI-powered feature called Restyle, currently available in beta for users in the U.S. and Canada. The tool is built on the company's proprietary Pinterest Intelligence platform, which leverages Nvidia Blackwell GPUs and Nvidia Dynamo technology alongside open-source models.
The Restyle feature allows users to upload photos of their rooms and use AI prompts to modify their spaces. Users can add furniture, wall art, and accessories, change paint colors or lighting, and swap out existing items. The AI can also apply specific design styles, such as bohemian or industrial, to the uploaded images.
This functionality aims to bridge the gap between finding inspiration on the platform and making actual purchases. By visualizing saved items within their own homes, users may be more inclined to complete transactions. The feature was showcased at the annual Pinterest Presents event.
In addition to Restyle, Pinterest introduced new visual search ads and app promotion tools for advertisers. While the tool is currently in an early preview stage, the company plans to roll it out more broadly starting next month.
