Petrovich, a construction retailer, has evolved its IT landscape from a single ERP system based on 1C to a complex ecosystem of specialized services. As the business expanded, the initial monolithic approach struggled with increased transaction volumes and operational complexity, necessitating a shift toward a distributed architecture.
The current digital ecosystem includes specialized domains such as WMS for warehouse management, TMS for logistics, CRM for wholesale, and Promo Engine for loyalty programs. These systems are interconnected via a corporate service bus, allowing independent development of business functions while maintaining a unified order flow across various sales channels.
To address data fragmentation across these domains, the company implemented a Data Platform utilizing ClickHouse, S3, and Data Lens. This layer aggregates operational data to provide comprehensive analytics, enabling the business to understand the context of every transaction from order placement to final delivery.
The company is currently integrating an Order Management System (OMS) to orchestrate the lifecycle of orders. This system acts as a central coordinator, linking disparate domains like accounting, warehousing, and logistics to ensure seamless execution without replacing existing specialized software.
Petrovich currently processes over 23,000 orders and 10,000 deliveries daily. The transition to an OMS-driven architecture aims to improve operational efficiency by explicitly defining order management as a distinct business function and reducing friction at the integration points between systems.
