K2 Cyber Security has completed functional and stress testing of Kaspersky NGFW version 1.3, utilizing the KX-100 and KX-400 hardware platforms. The solution incorporates DPDK and VPP technology stacks to enhance throughput, alongside an AI-driven antivirus engine designed to detect zero-day threats.
Stress tests conducted across a range of 1 to 10,000 filtering rules demonstrated high performance on the KX-400 platform with minimal packet latency. While the KX-100 platform showed lower performance when all security modules were active, it remains suitable for smaller infrastructures.
The system features a centralized management interface and command-line tools that allow for the distribution of security policies across multiple gateways. The solution includes functional modules such as AppControl, IDPS, AV, URL filtering, SSL inspection, and DNS Security.
Kaspersky plans to release version 2.0 in late 2026, which will include a Failover operation status in the graphical interface. Additionally, a Client-to-Site VPN feature is expected to enter beta testing on the KES for Windows agent in late 2026, with a commercial release scheduled for April 2027.
