Oracle has integrated OpenAI's ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex into its internal operations, including recruiting, engineering, and general business processes. The company reported an 80% internal adoption rate within three months of the rollout, which commenced in April and May 2026.
The implementation has significantly impacted engineering workflows. According to internal research, developers can now generate code in approximately one week, a task that previously required two to three quarters to complete.
Beyond internal use, Oracle has expanded its commercial offerings by incorporating generative AI into its Fusion Cloud HCM product. Additionally, a partnership announced on June 10, 2026, allows Oracle Cloud Infrastructure customers to access OpenAI models using Universal Credits.
Despite productivity gains, Oracle executives identified challenges regarding cost visibility. Unlike traditional per-seat software licensing, agentic tools that execute multi-step tasks can lead to unpredictable consumption of computing resources, complicating budget management.
