OpenZeppelin and the T-REX Network entered a strategic partnership on July 7, 2026, to enhance the ERC-3643 token standard infrastructure. The collaboration focuses on security, modularity, and on-chain identity management, with OpenZeppelin providing architecture advice and code reviews for the ONCHAINID v3 identity layer.
The updated identity layer now utilizes the ERC-7579 modular smart account standard, incorporating ERC-4337 account abstraction and support for multiple signers. This development supports the creation of the T-REX Ledger, a cross-chain compliance framework built using the Polygon CDK to maintain consistent eligibility rules across networks.
Currently, over $32 billion in assets are tokenized under the T-REX standard across more than 20 jurisdictions, with support from a coalition of over 140 institutions. Financial services provider Apex Group, which manages $3.5 trillion in assets, has committed to using this infrastructure.
Apex Group aims to tokenize up to $100 billion in assets by June 2027. The T-REX Ledger is scheduled for a mainnet launch in Q4 2026. The system is designed to embed jurisdictional eligibility and transfer logic directly into token contracts to ensure compliance during cross-chain movements.
