OpenAI announced on October 12, 2026, that it will increase its total hiring commitment in Ireland to 450 roles. This update adds 200 new positions to the 250 roles previously pledged in July 2026.
The company currently employs over 120 people in the country. The expansion plan, which aims to reach the new headcount target, is scheduled to run through 2028.
To accommodate the growing team, OpenAI is moving to a new headquarters at the Tropical Fruit Warehouse in Dublin’s Docklands. The facility covers 8,000 square meters, with the relocation targeted for late 2026.
OpenAI established its European base in Ireland in 2023. The office focuses on operations, legal, security engineering, and go-to-market functions, supported by the 2025 OpenAI for Ireland initiative.
