OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra model participated in a 141-hour test within the game Minecraft. During the experiment, the AI successfully built a semi-automatic blaze farm to collect 6 blaze rods and gathered 3 pearls after killing over 6 endermen in a warped forest.
The progress was interrupted when a Creeper explosion destroyed the model's chest and bed. This event wiped out the AI's inventory and reset its spawn point. Following the incident, the model spent several hours farming potatoes and exhibited signs of paranoia regarding creepers.
Astra is a frontier model from OpenAI capable of computer use, including browsing, clicking, and typing. Previously, the model autonomously completed the game Portal in 24 hours. The cost of the tokens used for that specific task amounted to $571.
