OpenAI has integrated its frontier AI models and Codex coding tools directly into Google Cloud. This expansion allows developers within the Google ecosystem to access OpenAI products without requiring external platforms.

The rollout completes OpenAI's presence across the three major US cloud providers. The company previously launched its models on Amazon Bedrock on April 28, 2026, while maintaining its long-standing partnership with Microsoft Azure.

OpenAI began diversifying its infrastructure suppliers in May 2025 to meet rising computing demands. By July 2025, Google Cloud officially joined a list of suppliers that includes Microsoft, Oracle, and CoreWeave.

Beyond cloud infrastructure, OpenAI has started renting Google’s custom TPU chips for AI workloads, marking a strategic shift away from exclusive reliance on Nvidia hardware.

As of June 2025, OpenAI reported an annualized revenue run rate of $10 billion. This scale of growth necessitated the move to multi-cloud support to secure sufficient computing capacity.
