OpenAI introduced the ChatGPT Pro 500 subscription plan at the DevDay 2026 conference, priced at $500 per month. This tier features 'Ultrafast' computing capabilities, delivering speeds up to 8 times faster than standard models for tasks involving GPT-6 Astra, Codex, and ChatGPT Work.

Starting October 30, the existing Pro 200 plan will see its usage limits for Work and Codex reduced by half. OpenAI plans to provide one-time credit compensation to current subscribers affected by this adjustment, while maintaining the tier for users who do not require the high-speed resources of the Pro 500 plan.

The company launched the Decisions API, powered by the GPT-6 Luna model, designed for automated business routing and classification. Additionally, the Agents API now includes 'Computer Use' capabilities, allowing AI agents to interact directly with computer interfaces and collaborate in multi-agent environments.

Codex received significant updates, including cloud-based persistent development environments, voice control for the CLI, and the new Codex Security Cloud. The latter can scan GitHub repositories for vulnerabilities and suggest fixes. Furthermore, Amazon Bedrock Managed Agents will now support core Agents API features.

OpenAI unveiled 'Dots', autonomous agents powered by GPT-6 Astra that operate with their own browsers and computers, capable of connecting to over 4,000 services. The company also released the GPT-6.1 Sol model, optimized for agentic programming and long-term workflows, priced at approximately one-fifth of the flagship Astra API.
