ONE Nuclear has advanced its Project Amberjack in Louisiana to the next development phase. The company is initiating technical, geological, and environmental assessments for the site, which is intended to host a multi-unit nuclear complex with a capacity of up to 1 GW.

The project team has already completed an initial site suitability analysis, restriction assessment, and conceptual layout. Current efforts focus on evaluating soil conditions, environmental impact, cooling water availability, logistics, and grid interconnection capabilities.

The company is currently conducting a technology selection process to compare various small modular reactor (SMR) designs. No specific reactor technology or station configuration has been finalized at this stage of the project.

Project Amberjack remains in its early stages and has not yet secured permits from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). The ongoing studies are designed to establish the technical and regulatory foundation required for future licensing applications.
