Ondo Finance officially launched its Private Markets platform on October 6, 2026. The service allows eligible non-US investors to gain economic exposure to private companies through tokenized notes. The initial offering tracks a pre-IPO artificial intelligence company.
These notes are linked to the per-share value of the underlying company's common stock during liquidity events like IPOs or acquisitions. The tokens do not grant actual ownership, voting rights, or shareholder status, as they function as obligations of the issuer.
Secondary market trading for these notes is expected to begin this week on a 24/7 basis. This structure aims to bypass the traditional, slow processes associated with private equity transactions. Ondo plans to expand into sectors including robotics, biotech, and space.
Ondo Finance previously focused on tokenizing US Treasuries and public equities, reaching a total value locked of over $3.7 billion with more than 1 million cumulative holders. The company did not disclose specific assets under management for the new platform.
