Developer Oleg Fomenko has released frost-wallet, an open-source Bitcoin wallet designed for offline use. The application is contained within a single HTML file and does not require a network connection, server, or cloud account.

The wallet utilizes a t-of-n threshold setup, where multiple participants hold key shares. A transaction is signed only when a specific threshold of participants cooperates, ensuring that no single individual possesses the complete private key.

Built in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly, the wallet supports communication between participants via QR codes, plain text, or files. This allows the key generation and signing processes to occur on air-gapped devices.

The project integrates ChillDKG for distributed key generation and a FROST-style procedure for threshold Schnorr signatures. It produces BIP340 signatures compatible with the Taproot upgrade and supports Partially Signed Bitcoin Transactions.

The wallet and the associated chilldkg-rs library have not undergone formal security audits. Furthermore, the underlying specifications remain in the draft stage as proposed Bitcoin Improvement Proposals.
