The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) has lowered its economic growth forecast for Turkey for 2026. The projection now stands at 2.7%, down from the previous estimate of 3.1%. This figure represents the lowest growth rate for the country since 2020.

The organization attributes this downward revision to geopolitical tensions, specifically the conflict involving Iran, as well as rising costs for energy and commodities. This is the third time the OECD has downgraded Turkey's growth outlook within the current year.

Economic concerns persist regarding Turkey's resilience in the face of high inflation. The OECD expects the inflation rate in Turkey to reach 31.5% in 2026. Market participants are monitoring developments in the Middle East, as the conflict could further impact global oil supplies and pricing.
