Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang announced a shift toward local AI computing during a presentation in San Francisco on October 7. The company is promoting the RTX Spark platform, which Huang describes as the only computer capable of natively running all applications locally.

The platform supports a wide range of software, including DirectX, OpenGL, and all CUDA-based applications. Nvidia has already conducted compatibility and performance testing for over 1,200 different applications on the RTX Spark system.

Nvidia is building a broad hardware ecosystem that spans from lightweight AI PCs and professional workstations to high-performance devices like the DGX Station. Most major manufacturers of desktops, laptops, and workstations have joined this partnership.

According to Huang, the RTX Spark platform aims to serve as both a professional tool and a personal assistant for users. The company intends to continuously expand the software library available for these AI-capable Windows devices.
