The NVIDIA RTX PRO 5500 Blackwell workstation card has appeared on the SHI Government Solutions website. The retailer listed the PNY-manufactured model, identified as VCNRTXPRO5500B-PB, with an MSRP of $17 999 and a discounted price of $17 408.63.

This pricing exceeds the cost of the flagship RTX PRO 6000, which is listed on NVIDIA's US marketplace for $16 000. The RTX PRO 6000 features 24 064 CUDA cores and 96 GB of memory, compared to 21 760 CUDA cores and 84 GB of memory in the RTX PRO 5500.

NVIDIA added the RTX PRO 5500 to its product lineup in September without providing official pricing. High demand from Chinese companies, including ByteDance, Alibaba, and Tencent, is cited as a primary factor for the current market price.

Reports indicate that Chinese firms have placed orders for over 6 million units of the RTX PRO 5500, with individual cards priced at approximately $11 400. Production capacity for the card is estimated at no more than 3 million units for 2027.

The RTX PRO 5500 remains one of the most powerful NVIDIA GPUs available to Chinese firms due to export restrictions on other models like the B300. The card utilizes 28 GDDR7 memory modules, contributing to its high production costs.
