Nvidia is currently in non-binding negotiations to provide credit guarantees for Nscale, a UK-based AI cloud provider. The chipmaker aims to support the construction of a new data center campus in West Virginia, which is intended to host Anthropic as its primary tenant.

Anthropic has committed to a rental agreement worth approximately $45 billion for the facility's first building, which will feature a 460-megawatt capacity. Nvidia intends for the data center to utilize its own hardware, specifically the next-generation Vera Rubin processors.

The proposed credit guarantees are designed to cover electricity and construction costs for Nscale. By acting as a guarantor, Nvidia seeks to facilitate easier access to debt financing for the project, ensuring the continued demand for its high-end AI chips.

Nvidia already holds an equity stake in Nscale and has previously invested in other AI firms facing similar financing challenges, such as CoreWeave and Firmus. The current discussions were first reported on October 29, 2026, and remain subject to change as no formal agreements are finalized.
