Nvidia is currently in negotiations to potentially invest up to $10 billion into the upcoming initial public offering of Anthropic. This capital injection is intended to support the AI company in achieving a record-breaking market debut. Reports suggest that Anthropic is aiming to raise as much as $100 billion, targeting a total company valuation of approximately $2 trillion.
If finalized, this investment would surpass the record set by SpaceX in June, which raised $75 billion at a valuation of $1.8 trillion. Nvidia has previously committed $10 billion to the company in November 2025 and currently maintains a $105 billion backstop for AI data center leases. The role of Nvidia as an anchor investor would be critical to establishing price credibility.
Market sentiment remains high, with 19 exchanges, including Kraken, Coinbase, and Binance, offering pre-IPO perpetual futures for Anthropic. According to CoinGecko, these contracts indicated an average valuation of $1.94 trillion at the start of September. Meanwhile, prediction markets on Polymarket show a 90 percent probability of the IPO occurring by the end of the year, despite lower odds for an October completion.
Anthropic filed for its IPO confidentially in June and has yet to release its formal prospectus. While the company pursues a valuation that would exceed the SpaceX record, the final pricing remains the most significant hurdle for the deal. Traders are actively betting on the timeline of the event, with $2.89 million in volume already recorded on Polymarket regarding the IPO's successful execution.
