Developer MAAN has demonstrated a proof-of-concept project that enables Nvidia DLSS 5 to function within a browser environment using WebGPU. This implementation allows the technology to operate on macOS devices, bypassing the traditional application-based integration methods typically required by Nvidia's official SDKs.

Nvidia does not currently provide official support for DLSS in browsers, as its SDK documentation is primarily designed for native applications using DirectX or Vulkan. The integration typically relies on the NGX interface or Streamline SDK, which require specific data inputs like motion vectors and depth data that are not natively compatible with browser rendering pipelines.

While the project is available for online demonstration, it is not yet suitable for real-time gaming due to low performance. Even when running on an RTX 4090, the system takes approximately 1 to 2 seconds to load the neural rendering model. The developer plans to release the source code on GitHub, which is expected to clarify the technical implementation details.

The current demo features various 3D scenes and style presets, including cinematic and natural modes, with adjustable parameters for intensity and skin structure. Given the high processing load, the technology is currently more applicable to use cases such as architectural visualization or real-time 3D model previews rather than interactive gaming.
