Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently addressed concerns regarding the risks of artificial intelligence during an interview with CBS Sunday Morning. He stated that there is a zero percent chance of AI leading to the end of the world, describing warnings about such dangers as unnecessary and irresponsible.
Huang specifically criticized calls from industry leaders, including OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, to slow down AI development. He argued that these demands are not grounded in science and expressed opposition to the implementation of new laws, rules, or guidelines for the sector.
The executive also dismissed concerns regarding the sale of Nvidia chips to China and the potential for AI models to escape containment. Huang maintains that the current trajectory of the industry should remain unchecked to avoid slowing down its expansion.
The financial stakes for the Nvidia CEO are significant, as his personal wealth has grown from an estimated $21 billion in 2023 to over $192 billion in 2026. Huang currently holds the seventh position on the Forbes list of the world's richest individuals.
