Novo Nordisk has entered into a partnership with Anthropic to integrate the Claude large language model into its drug discovery and development processes. The collaboration aims to leverage AI to address complex scientific challenges and enhance the efficiency of the company's research pipeline.
During the initial phase, Novo Nordisk will test various Anthropic models, including Claude Science, within its internal workflows. The company expects these tools to assist researchers in reasoning and deepening their understanding of human biology and drug mechanisms.
Beyond drug research, the pharmaceutical firm plans to utilize Anthropic's models to improve internal software development. Novo Nordisk already uses Claude to automate the drafting of clinical trial reports, which has reduced the production time for patient-related documentation from several months to just a few minutes.
Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei stated that providing researchers with secure and capable AI models can shorten development cycles and improve research outcomes. The partnership reflects a broader industry trend where pharmaceutical companies increasingly adopt artificial intelligence to accelerate drug development.
