Nio's Firefly brand has introduced a 60-kWh battery pack for its electric vehicles, powered by CATL's Qilin technology. This new option increases the CLTC range to 560 km, compared to the 420 km provided by the standard 42-kWh LFP battery supplied by Sunwoda.
The 60-kWh pack utilizes nickel-cobalt-manganese cells and maintains the same dimensions and weight as the original battery. This compatibility allows existing Firefly owners to upgrade their vehicles through the company's battery-swapping network.
For new buyers, the vehicle with the 60-kWh battery starts at ¥136 800. Under the battery-as-a-service subscription model, the price is ¥79 800 with a monthly rental fee of ¥599.
Existing owners who purchased their vehicles outright can upgrade to the larger battery for a one-time fee of ¥17 000, provided at least one year has passed since purchase. BaaS users pay a ¥3 000 service fee, with monthly rent increasing to ¥599.
