The NFQWS2 ASUS Community project provides an adaptation of the nfqws2 utility for ASUSWRT-Merlin firmware with Entware, now including native OpenWrt support. The web interface, built with React, TypeScript, and Material UI, allows users to manage traffic processing strategies, device selection, and DNS settings directly from a browser.

The system uses NFQUEUE to intercept packets and apply specific processing strategies based on the provider's DPI and protocol. For ASUS devices, the tool includes checks for the ARK traffic processing module, which can interfere with packet delivery. On OpenWrt, the software utilizes procd, netifd, and nftables, with specific packages available for OpenWrt 24.10 and 25.12.

The platform features a JSON-based profile system for importing and exporting configurations, including dependencies like Lua files and binary data. A safety mechanism for SmartDNS configuration provides a 120-second window for users to verify connectivity before changes are permanently applied, reverting to previous settings if not confirmed.

Diagnostic tools are integrated into the panel to monitor process status, packet flow, and service performance. Updates are managed through a secure process that verifies release signatures and SHA256 checksums. The project code is distributed under the MIT license, while third-party components retain their original licensing.
