The crew for the upcoming International Space Station mission arrived at the Kennedy Space Center on Saturday. The quartet, consisting of NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delany, CSA astronaut Joshua Kutryk, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Teteryantnikov, is scheduled to launch on October 1 at 11:10 a.m. EDT.
The mission was originally planned for September 12 but was postponed due to an oxidizer leak in the Dragon spacecraft named Grace. SpaceX replaced the faulty oxidizer valve in the propulsion system, a repair process confirmed by NASA in mid-September.
Ahead of the launch, the team has completed a Flight Readiness Review. Upcoming preparations include a static fire engine test of the Falcon 9 rocket on Sunday and a full launch day rehearsal for the crew on Tuesday.
For Jessica Watkins, this mission marks her second trip to space, while the other three crew members are flying for the first time. The team has been training together for over a year and will join the Expedition 75 crew upon arrival at the station.
