Polish developer Pawel Szydlowski has released an application called Zuckoff, designed to detect Meta smart glasses in the user's vicinity. The tool identifies active devices and estimates their distance from the smartphone.

The application became available on the Apple App Store last month and has already reached 5,000 users. A Pro subscription option allows for continuous background monitoring, sending push notifications if smart glasses are detected nearby.

Szydlowski developed the software following concerns over the use of smart glasses for recording unsuspecting individuals. The app's name serves as a reference to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

Meta has addressed privacy concerns by stating that tampering with the LED recording indicator will permanently disable the camera functionality of the glasses. CTO Andrew Bosworth emphasized that the hardware is designed to be visible to others.
